Both of ESPN.com's experts have Michigan going up against Alabama.

Historically, the game hosted the champion of the Southwest Conference (SWC) against a team invited from elsewhere in the country, frequently a major independent or a runner-up from the Southeastern Conference (SEC).

It now features the At-large/Group of Five (2015–present).

Michigan will pay out $90 for every $10 bet to win the College Football Championship.  Alabama was priced at -250 as the favorite.
