Scientific Games Acquires Don Best Sports

Scientific Games has announced the acquisition of Don Best Sports, a real time line service and sports data collection company encompassing quite the colorful history.

The Deal

As the leading global supplier of real-time betting data and pricing for the North American sports market, Don Best will bring their unparalleled proprietary pricing services to Scientific Games. History of Don Best

Don Best was inspired by one Don Bessett, who was way ahead of his time in offering the famed Vegas Stardust line to anyone with a computer in the 80’s, in particular bookmakers and professional sports bettors.

He sold his business to Al Corbo before passing away from cancer and Corbo himself would die from the same disease years later.

Corbo's son Dana would go on to run Don Best Sports during the early years of online sports betting.

Ultimately Corbo would sell for around a reported $54 million.
