Seattle Seahawks 2009 Odds

The Seattle Seahawks 2009 odds offer some great value, only if you plan on betting the UNDER 7 ½ regular season wins.  That's what is currently being offered up at Sports Interaction.com

Why do we love this play?

There were not only injuries last season but tons of discontent.  Former Seahawks fullback Leonard Weaver told the St. Louis Post Dispatch that there was locker room division between new coach Jim Mora Jr. followers and departing coach Mike Holmgren acolytes.  The team finished 4-12 last year and they might not be improving any time soon despite the weak NFC West division.

Now comes word of new problems facing the Seattle Seahawks.

Mora announced Wednesday that left tackle Walter Jones will undergo arthroscopic knee surgery after missing nearly all of training camp because of the injury.

The team will also be without cornerback Marcus Trufant indefinitely because of a "disc issue" in his back.  He hasn't practiced in camp.

Trufant remains a mystery though many suspect it's his bad back acting up.  He's on the active/PUP list and will likely miss the first half of the season.

Without Jones though, this team will be lucky to win 7 regular season games.  And just look at the schedule!  Assuming they can beat weak division rivals San Francisco and St. Louis twice for a total of 4 wins, only two home games against the Lions and Bucs seem like "givens".

"It looks like another long season for Seattle Seahawks fans and perhaps a real short one for those betting the UNDER 7 ½ regular season wins," remarked Don Shapiro of Gambling911.com.

The second half of the season features games against the revamped Minnesota Vikings, Arizona Cardinals, Tennessee Titans and what will likely be a frigid game in Green Bay.  They will also be playing on the road in Houston, a team that showed promise last season.

J.J. McCarthy Drafted Number 3 Odds to Patriots

To be clear, the Michigan quarterback J.J. McCarthy is pretty certain to land in Minnesota.  But what if the New England Patriots shock us and pick McCarthy at Number 3 before the Vikings get their opportunity at No. 5?
