Futures Gamblers Breathe Collective Sigh of Relief as Taylor Hand Injury Deemed Minor

Surprisingly, so many sports bettors are backing the Cleveland Browns with their early futures bets.  Seeing quarterback Tyrod Taylor go down Thursday night with a hand injury had gamblers and Browns fans alike cringing.

Taylor ultimately returned to play and the injury turned out to be minor.

From ESPN.com:

On fourth-and-goal from the Eagles' 1-yard line on the Browns' second offensive series of the game, Taylor had to roll out of the pocket to avoid pressure. As he threw the ball, he fell to the ground, and replays showed his left wrist bent backward. Taylor was favoring the arm as he walked off the field after the play.

"We will continue to look at it and see where we are as we head into next week," head coach Hue Jackson said. "X-rays were negative, but I think it is important that we do everything that we need to do to make sure exactly where that hand is."

This week it was revealed that gamblers were putting their money down on Cleveland to win the AFC North, the AFC Championship or even the Super Bowl with the hopes of a big pay day.

"There are more bets on the Browns to win the AFC North than the other three teams combined," a sportsbook manager at Caesars Palace told ESPN. "Only the Raiders and Steelers have more bets to win the AFC [than the Browns]. The public likes the Browns, and I'm not sure why."
