The age restrictions for opening an online wagering account and placing bets with the Draftkings sportsbook app is similar to that of drinking alcohol in the United States: You must be 21. Those 18 to 21 can still place bets with other popular online gambling sites, many of which have been in business for 20 plus years now. (BetUS offers a generous welcome bonus - max bonus $2500)

CREDIT CARDS WELCOME - NO SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER REQUIRED

Unlike bars where bartenders, wait staff and doormen have to rely solely on photo IDs, many of which are easy to fake, the online age verification process is much more thorough and accurate.  One would have to steal their parents credit card and other forms of identification, including their social security number.  The best way to bet as an 18, 19, or 20 year-old is via an international site

Draftkings also began operating a sportsbook in Atlantic City's oldest established casino, Resorts.  It, too, prohibits sports wagering by those under the age of 21.

Draftkings is now available in these states, but again, you must be at least 21 years old to place real money bets:

Iowa, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Indiana, New Hampshire, Illinois, West Virginia, Tennessee, Colorado, Virginia and Michigan.
