The July numbers are in and legalized sports betting has been a huge success so far in New Jersey.

Ocean Resort reported the highest revenue from legalized sports betting, reporting just over $1 million in July. Borgata reported $563,000 from its sportsbook operation. Bally's began taking sports bets at its Wild Wild West Casino on July 30 and reported $18,000 for two days.  July is widely considered the slowest month in the sports betting sector, lodged between the NBA Finals, Triple Crown and the start of Football.

New Jersey began offering sports wagering after the Supreme Court abolished decades long prohibition against the activity.

Last week, Draftkings introduced its sports betting app, allowing residents and visitors alike who have Internet access and a mobile device to place bets within New Jersey's borders.

Internet gambling was already available for poker and casino games.

Web gambling revenues increased in July, accounting for just under $26 million. Golden Nugget Atlantic City led the pack with $9.3 million last month. The casino hotel's total gaming revenue for July was $29.4 million by comparison.
