Baseball is back Thursday with a single game with the Cardinals-Cubs.  Chicago was an overnight favorite with a money line of -148.

These teams have split wins and losses over the last ten meetings.

951     St. Louis Cardinals
C. Martinez -R                             +138     o
952     Chicago Cubs
K. Hendricks -R                             -148     o

PITCHING MATCHUP: Cardinals RH Carlos Martinez (6-5, 3.08 ERA) vs. Cubs RH Kyle Hendricks (6-8, 3.92)

Martinez had won three straight starts, posting quality starts in all three, before losing to Cincinnati in his last outing of the first half.  He is 4-4 with a 4.58 ERA in 25 games (15 starts) against the Cub.

Hendricks is 3-2 with a 3.43 ERA in 11 starts against the Cardinals, including a win June 16 in St. Louis.

The Cubs are 1-6 in Hendricks' last 7 starts with 4 days of rest but this is a team that went 12-3 in their last 15 overall prior to the All Star Break.

Baseball News

Chris Paddack Player Prop Bets

Paddack recorded 10 strikeouts over seven shutout innings on Monday in a win over the White Sox. Prior to that start, Paddack was obliterated by the Orioles, allowing nine runs on 12 hits in 5 1/3 innings.

Zach Eflin Player Prop Bets

Zach Eflin has great value in fantasy leagues for the April 26 game against the lowly Chicago White Sox.  Betting on Eflin and the Tampa Bay Rays might make sense if not for the -210 price tag.

Trevor Williams Player Prop Bets

The Nats Trevor Williams held the Astros to one run with four strikeouts across six innings in a no-decision on Saturday.  And the betting public was eating him up at a near 80% clip.
