A 26-year-old New Zealand pervert is fighting for his life after flying halfway across the globe on various connecting flights then traveling by bus to harass a 14-year-old girl he met on a gaming app.  Her mother shot him in the neck.

From the Register:

Troy George Skinner, 25, flew from his home in Auckland to Sydney, Australia, took a connecting flight to Los Angeles, USA, then from Los Angeles to Washington DC, and finally caught a bus from DC to Goochland County, Virginia, in order to reach the unnamed girl he had been interacting with online for several months, cops said this week.

Although that might sound vaguely romantic, the truth was much darker, it is claimed: she had told him over a gaming chat app called, appropriately enough, Discord, that she no longer wanted to talk to him, sparking his trans-Pacific passage.

Discord is an all-in-one voice and text chat for gamers that's free, secure, and works on both your desktop and phone.

Skinner arrived at the girl's home, reportedly carrying with him duct tape, pepper spray and a knife.

He then rang the bell dressed in a black hoodie and told the mom he had hitchhiked for 30 miles and needed assistance.

The mother, who was unaware of Skinner's interactions with her daughter, would not let him in.  He then attempted to break in, at which point the mom warned she had a gun.

Skinner returned and tried to break in again, at which time she shot him.

"This was not random," said Goochland County Sheriff James Agnew at a press conference on Tuesday. "This was not random, not spontaneous. This was something very planned," adding: "It's a new world."

Skinner was medivaced to a nearby hospital and is expected to survive.
