Quip odds to win the Preakness Stakes were set at 12-1.

Owner: WinStar Farm LLC, China Horse Club International Ltd., and SF Racing

Trainer: Rodolphe Brisset

Jockey: Florent Geroux

Morning line odds: 12-1

Quip did qualify for this year's Kentucky Derby but Brisset opted to hold out for the Preakness Stakes.  This will result in a quality horse with fresh legs that should give favorite Justify and the Kentucky Derby runner up Good Magic a run for their money.

Quip won the Grade 2 Tampa Derby and finished second in the Grade 1 Arkansas Derby.

He’s fast but has only run on a dry track.  Saturday's Pimlico track may not be dry based on early weather forecasts.

Justify (2-5)
Good Magic (7-2)
Quip (16-1)
Diamond King (16-1)
Sporting Chance (22-1)
Bravazo (20-1)
Tenfold (25-1)
Lone Sailor (25-1)
