Authorities in Brazil have arrested several individuals in connection with a prostitution ring tied to US casinos.

Nine Brazilians and three US citizens were charged with sending at least 200 Brazilian prostitutes to Las Vegas casinos as well as Dominican Republic resorts and to France.

The international operation was dubbed "Harem".

US and Dominican Republic law enforcement were involved in the bust.

Ten bank accounts connected to the women were also frozen.  They were believed to have received approximately $40,000 per month.

The twelve suspects could face a maximum of eight years in prison if convicted.
