Over these next few days Colorado residents looking to place a bet on the Kentucky Derby will be seeing plenty of advertisements for TwinSpires.com, but betting might not be available in time for the 2021 Kentucky Derby, at least not from TwinSpires.

BetOnline Welcomes Horse Bettors From All US States Except NJ, PA and NV (Max Bonus $1000)

TwinSpires recently acquired BetAmerica, which was licensed and regulated in Colorado.  The TwinSpires horse racing app is separate from the sports betting app and Churchill Downs is hoping to have it fully functional and integrated in time for Saturday's marquee race.

The Kentucky-based Churchill Downs announced in January that it would be transitioning its BetAmerica sportsbooks nationally to the more recognizable TwinSpires brand.  This iniative first rolled out in Michigan, followed then by Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Indiana, Mississippi, and Colorado.

The BetAmerica platform in Pennsylvania, tied in with Presque Isle Downs routinely ranked at the bottom of performers in the Keystone State.  Colorado had similar results.

Can't Bet on Twinspires.com From Mississippi

Despite it being among the very first states to legalize sports betting following the US Supreme Court decision to abolish decades of prohibition in 2018, Mississippi still doesn't allow mobile sports wagering....and that includes betting on the Kentucky Derby.  As such, TwinSpires.com is not available here.

TwinSpires is available from most US states.  Those states where the app is not available mostly do not feature any of the competition either.  BetOnline is available in states where TwinSpires is not for those 18 and up with two exceptions, New Jersey and Nevada.
