What is the Apollo Curse? 2018 Kentucky Derby

If you believe in curses, you will probably want to avoid those horses participating in the 2018 Kentucky Derby who could be impacted by the dreaded Apollo Curse.  Find the latest Kentucky Derby odds here  SCROLL DOWN FOR MORE

Only one horse has ever won the “Run for the Roses” without having raced as a two-year-old.  In 1882, a lightly raced colt by the name of Apollo did exactly that and pulled off an upset for the ages, defeating 4-5 favorite Runnymede on a “muddy” track to win the Kentucky Derby.

Could we finally see an end to the Apollo Curse or do you avoid those horses who might be impacted?

From USA Today:

Justify, who made his debut on Feb. 18, was about as impressive as a 3-year-old can be in winning the Santa Anita Derby. He’s just 3-for-3, but he’s for real — and he’s got the modern master in Baffert guiding him. Similarly, Arkansas Derby winner Magnum Moon looks like he’s legit. After breaking his maiden first time out on Jan. 13, he breezed through an allowance race at Tampa Bay Downs and then won the two big prep races at Oaklawn that launched American Pharoah to the Triple Crown.
