Alex Smith Traded to the Raiders: KC, Oakland Odds Updated

In a shock move revealed late Tuesday,  quaterback Alex Smith has been traded from the Kansas City Chiefs to the Oakland Raiders.

Few books were offering odds on the 2019 Super Bowl ahead of Sunday's big game.  Odds will be released immediately afterwards at some books.

But with the Eagles playing in Super Bowl 52, we already know the NFC East odds will now be extremely competitive with Smith joining the Skins.

As part of the trade, the Redskins will part ways with Kirk Cousins.

The Redskins would give Kansas City a third-round pick and an unnamed player as compensation, sources told ESPN. ESPN's Adam Schefter and Chris Mortenson also reported that Smith would sign a four-year extension with the Redskins, averaging $23.5 million per year with $71 million in guaranteed money.

Smith guided the team to the playoffs in four of his five seasons.  He had his best season in 2017.

The Chiefs last year drafted a quarterback, Mahomes II, in the first round for the first time in 34 years. That signaled the beginning of the end of Smith's time with the Chiefs, ESPN noted.
