The Rockies bolstered their excellent bullpen by signing Wade Davis to the highest per-year contract for a relief pitcher.  This could make Colorado one of the better teams in Major League Baseball in 2018 with odds of winning the World Series now set at 28/1.

The 32-year-old signed a three-year, $52 million deal with Colorado, the highest per-year salary ever for a relief pitcher.

Davis set the Chicago Cubs franchise record with his 27th consecutive save last August.

In Game 5 of the 2017 National League Division Series, he tied a Division Series record with 3 saves.  He tied a record by getting one in each of his 3 opportunities.
