A 42-year-old Bet365.com employee known affectionately as the “Poker Queen” was killed in a Czech Republic crash early last month.  Hundreds attended Emma Fryer’s funeral Tuesday morning.

Christ Church, in Alsager, was packed to capacity as some well-wishers had to stand outside during the morning service.

The mother-of-two, from Alsager, had been preparing to play in the World Series of Poker Europe Tournament when the collision happened. She had recently secured a backer to allow her to play poker professionally.

Emma was a passenger in the car when it crashed into a concrete pole due to thick fog.

Friend John Brassington told the Sentinel: "The funeral was a fitting tribute. I have known Emma for many years and she was a good girl. I have never known someone with so much to live for. It is the family I feel for."
