The Stanford-USC line was moving from -2.5 at some books to as high as -4 at others with the Trojans favored so they must be getting a ton of early action, right?
You would be correct and the oddsmakers are being reactive here.

One has to question why USC would be favored as Stanford appears slightly higher in the NFL Betting Power Ratings and techically would have more of a home field advantage.
The Cardinal should indeed be a -1.5 favorite assuming a neutral field and as high as a -3 favorite adding in the home field advantage.
Recent series history does not even favor Southern California as they are just 1-3 in the last four meetings between these two teams.
