Bookmaker.eu has revealed that the Carolina Panthers were coming in as the “false favorite” in Week 3 of the NFL.
They tweeted Sunday morning:
Betting public has #KeepPounding tabbed as false favs. 60% handle & 58% $$$ riding #GoSaints plus pts.
Recreational books had New Orleans seeing between 60% and 60% of the support as a +5 visiting dog. Bookmaker had dropped the number from Carolina -6 to -5 but has occasionally moved the line up to -5.5.
The #KeepPounding hashtag has become a team mantra in honor of late Carolina Panthers player and coach Sam Mills.
Mills first used the phrase "Keep Pounding" as a coach in an emotional speech to the team prior to the Panthers' playoff game versus the Dallas Cowboys on Jan. 2, 2004.
