The Las Vegas MGM Resorts sportsbook has confirmed that a sports bettor won a 5-team parlay that culminated with Detroit winning outright in their Monday Night Football game against the New York Giants. That gambler walked away with the biggest parlay win in MGM Resorts history: $263,000.
With $8,500 put down, the rest of the winners included the Baltimore Ravens, New England Patriots, Kansas City Chiefs and Oakland Raiders, all spread picks. Monday night’s final play was a money line wager on Detroit.
The Lions, who were 3-point underdogs and around +150 on the money line, defeated the Giants 24-10, behind two touchdown passes from quarterback Matthew Stafford and an 88-yard punt return for a touchdown by Jamal Agnew.
MGM sports book manager Jeff Stoneback told ESPN: "Sunday wasn't very good and last night was terrible," Stoneback said Tuesday morning. "Within a half-hour before game time, we took another five-figure money-line bet on the Lions, just to pile it on."
