HPT to Debut in Pennsylvania

Washington, Pennsylvania (Sept. 14, 2017) - Heartland Poker Tour (HPT) has traveled the country many times over since its inception in 2005, awarding more than $90 million in prize pool money. The tour has gained popularity and presented small fortunes to poker players far and wide, holding over 200 events in more than a dozen different states. Next month, HPT will visit Pennsylvania for the first time.

The Meadows Racetrack and Casino, located just outside of Pittsburgh, will host the celebrated poker tour for a 12-day series beginning Oct. 26. Poker enthusiasts will travel far and wide to take part in the event, which features a variety of tournament games with buy-ins as low as $75.

"We can't wait to welcome visitors from across the country to our gorgeous property," said Allie Evangelista, vice president and general manager of The Meadows. "HPT players will love our spacious casino floor, our outstanding food choices and the option to enjoy live harness racing."

The series kicks off with a multi-day $350 No Limit Hold 'Em tournament that has seen field sizes of more than 1,000 entries in similar markets. That event has a $100,000 guaranteed prize pool and the winner will walk away with a fully customized championship belt as a memento for his accomplishment. Other schedule highlights include a $300 Seniors (50+) tournament and a $200 Pot Limit Omaha tournament. Click here for a look at the full schedule.

The highlight of the series at The Meadows will be the $1,100 Main Event on the final weekend. That $200,000 guarantee tournament offers three starting flights and is anticipated to draw a mix of notable pros and amateurs alike. HPT Main Event champions often walk away with a six-figure payday. In addition, the Main Event champion will take home a custom sterling silver bracelet for winning the tournament.

HPT prides itself on the slogan, "Real People, Unreal Money." The tour's signature satellites and qualifiers offer the most casual of poker enthusiasts the opportunity to turn a small investment into life-changing money. The full schedule has several qualifiers at the $135 and $260 price range that give players a chance to win a seat into the marquee Main Event at a discounted rate.

"I and the rest of the HPT crew are beyond excited for our first event in the Pittsburgh market," said HPT director of operations Ken Lambert. "We're anticipating a great turnout and can't wait to crown a new champion in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania."

The Meadows Casino is situated about 25 miles south of Pittsburgh. The 350,000-square-foot gaming floor is loaded with 3,300 slot machines, 65 table games, and a 14-table poker room. Visitors can choose from a number of dining options ranging from endless dining at The Carvery buffet to upscale fine dining at the award-winning Bistecca Steakhouse. Other amenities on property include year-round harness racing with parimutuel betting and an on-site 24-lane state-of-the-art bowling center.

Traveling guests in need of hotel accommodations can book at the nearby DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel at exclusive rates of $72 per night by calling 724-222-6200 or clicking here.
