New Orleans Saints 2017 Season Betting Preview

From USA Today:

Of their five non-divisional road opponents, four were playoff teams last year (Patriots, Texans, Cowboys, Giants) ... as if their AFC West battles didn't present challenge enough. But if the Chiefs can hold it together until December, playing at Arrowhead from Weeks 14-16 could give them a decisive edge.

From AthlonSports.com:

Staying healthy is imperative, but (Andy) Reid has a deep roster at his disposal and has shown he can navigate teams into the playoffs. But the Chiefs are 1-3 in the postseason under Reid and must advance further or risk a minor rebuild, turning the reins over to (Patrick) Mahomes as part of a youth movement. Expect the lame-duck Raiders to mount the biggest challenge to the Chiefs’ AFC West supremacy.

Yahoo Sports questions whether there might be a quarterback controversy in store for the Chiefs in 2017.

From Yahoo Sports:

Maybe Kansas City’s season plays out differently. You’d like to think Chiefs coach Andy Reid wouldn’t set up (Alex) Smith to fail, and nobody there would leak before a big midseason game that the quarterback was going to lose his job if he didn’t play well. But Smith will be looking over his shoulder all season. That will always happen when you draft a quarterback in the top 10. The Chiefs have gone 40-21 in Smith’s starts. But a crushing home playoff loss to the Steelers seemingly drove home the point to the Chiefs that they need a new quarterback to get over the hump. Kansas City went 12-4 and won and AFC West title, and then practically gave up on Smith – it might not happen this season, but it’s likely to happen in 2018 at the latest. Smith isn’t old; he’s just 33. But Kansas City made the decision to go in a different direction at quarterback.
