Phil Ivey, Dave ‘Devilfish’ Ullioit Inducted Into Poker Hall of Fame

Phil Ivey, one of the greats in the world of poker, and the late Dave “Devilfish” Ullioit have been inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame over the weekend.

Ullioit passed away two years ago at the age of 61 following a long battle with cancer.

Poker News said he was "considered to be one of the true godfathers of poker in Europe" and "one of the most distinctive characters" of the poker world.  He had won just over $6.2 million in live career tournaments leading up to his death.

In a statement, his family said: "We know he will be up there strumming on his guitar and probably asking 'what took so long?'

"There isn't a day that goes past when we don't think of him and miss him but today we are so proud and delighted that he takes his rightful place in poker history - the legend of the Devilfish lives on!"

Ulliott and Ivey join 53 other players named in the Hall of Fame.

Ivey is among the biggest money earners in the game, having won nearly $24 million in live tournament winnings to date.

Mike Matusow, Ted Forrest and Huck Seed were all in the running to be inducted this year.
