Hackers Release Casino Customers Personal Information

Following the hacking of a casino one year ago, customer information has been released for the whole world to see.

The property in question is the Cowboys Casino in Calgary with thousands of files dumped reported to contain patrons payouts, gambling habits and the establishments “elite member list”.

The information was released to the website Pastebin with hackers issuing an ominous warning that further personal data could be dumped.  It was suggested that this is the first (and smallest) of a four-stage release.

“The computer security at Cowboys Casino was non-existent and all data was ripe for the taking. We asked Cowboys Casino to fix the gapping [sic] holes in their system but our request was ignored for over a year,” the hackers said in an online post. “So we have decided to go public and release our first [very small sample] data dump. Hopefully now they will take their customers’ and employees’ privacy more seriously.”

The data dump was anticipated by Cowboys Casino general manager Tyrone Waite, telling the Calgary Herald: “It’s unfortunate it’s happened. We’ve been working on this for a year and it’s always been in the back of our mind it could get out there at any time.”
