Gormley Odds to Win the 2017 Belmont Stakes, Possible Payout

Gormley odds to win this year’s Belmont Stakes were coming in at 10-1 for a potential payout of $100 for every $10 wagered.

You would be forgiven for neglecting to realize that Gormley raced in this year’s Kentucky Derby, where he finished in ninth place.

But he also ran in less-than-stellar conditions on a muddy track.  Previous to this Kentucky Derby finish, Gormley was the Santa Anita Derby winner.

“He deserves the opportunity (to run in the Belmont Stakes),” said Dottie Ingordo-Shirreffs, wife of trainer John Shirreffs and racing manager for Moss, in an interview with the Paulick Report following confirmation that he would run in this year’s race. 

13 horses were anticipated for the 2017 Belmont Stakes.
