Handicapped Gambling Addict Raped Women Then Forced Them to Sign Phone Contracts

26-year-old Callum Joseph Haggerty has been charged with 10 counts of rape against five different women.

The Southport District Court in Australia has also charged Haggerty with deprivation of liberty, fraud and stealing.

The victims met the defendant on a popular dating service.  Each of the women claim they were convinced to lend him money or purchase mobile phones in their names, which he allegedly later sold for up to $100 each in order to pay off his gambling debts.

Haggerty presented himself as a wealthy businessperson.

From the Gold Coast Bulletin:

He then allegedly sent the women into debt of up to $12,000 before they became too afraid to leave and were forced to have non-consensual sex with him, fearing they would never see their money.

Haggerty is crippled and can only use one arm.  He survives on disability checks when not taking advantage of women.

Haggerty is not allowed to use online dating or gambling websites, or leave his mother’s home between 10pm and 6am as a condition of the bail, the Bulletin reports.
