Recent Years Betting Results

Last year’s Giants went 9-6 Against The Spread as they played above expectations.  Despite a poor showing Straight Up the year prior with just six wins, New York still finished above the .500 mark Against The Spread at 8-7-1.

2017 Early Observations

While the Giants added a few more weapons for Eli Manning (Evan Engram in the Draft among them), New York may have taken a step back this off season by failing to address what Bill Barnwell of ESPN.com called a “dismal offense”.

For the second season in a row, the Giants' offense was rendered irrelevant at times by a porous offensive line. Inexplicably, for the second year in a row, (General Manager Jerry) Reese did close to nothing to address the issue.

As we noted last month, it is indeed conceivable the Giants can win more than 8 regular season games but the price is -175 and, unless they do more during the summer months and the price comes down, it’s hard to support betting the OVER at this number.

There’s an argument to be had that New York could win the division at 2-1, which is certainly a better value play than Dallas at +140.
