The original blockchain was invented in 2008 by the pseudonymous Satoshi Nakamoto to support Bitcoin, the first large-scale peer-to-peer crypto-currency, completely free of government and institutions.

Bitcoin has become an uber popular means of depositing and withdrawing from one’s online wagering account. In many cases, Bitcoin is now the most used payment processing method by North American-facing Web gambling operators.
