The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) in the UK has banned an ad put out by the Bear Group for what it says “objectifies women”.

Gambling could be perceived as enhancing personal qualities and attractiveness.

The company’s StarWins.com online casino features two men who are transported to a pub scene in which a woman ignores the men.  The two males then head to a casino in which scantily clad women show them tons of attention.

The women gather around the two men at a roulette table. They win of course, then head back to the pub.

In its defense, StarWins.com claim that the ad features female croupiers, a position that is typically male dominated.

The ASA countered by saying that the women in the ad were objectified and therefore likely to cause “serious or widespread offence”.
