HPT Returns to Chicagoland

East Chicago, Indiana, May 4, 2017 - Heartland Poker Tour (HPT) has awarded more than $7 million in prize pool money to poker enthusiasts at Ameristar East Chicago since 2014. The popular tour will look to add to that total when it returns to the Chicagoland venue this week.

The 12-day series kicks off today with a $350 Monster Stack tournament. There's a $200,000 guarantee on that event. Field sizes have been as high as 1,300 players in recent visits.

The marquee tournament of the series will be the Main Event, scheduled for May 11-15. When HPT last visited Ameristar East Chicago in January, the Main Event paid out nearly $850,000 to the top 63 finishers. Michael Hahn came out as the big winner in that tournament, walking away with $190,417 and the championship bracelet for the victory.

With a multitude of poker variations on the schedule and buy-ins starting as low as $75, there is truly something for everyone who comes out to play in the event.

"We love hosting the Heartland Poker Tour," said Matt Schuffert, Ameristar East Chicago's vice president and general manager. "It brings energy and excitement to the property, and we look forward to seeing new faces as well as veteran players who are loyal followers of HPT."

Ameristar East Chicago is conveniently located just 25 miles from downtown and a short drive from both major Chicago airports. Its 56,000 square-foot gaming space is home to more than 1,700 slots and video poker machines, 65 table games, and a dedicated baccarat room.

Guests will enjoy the full service hotel with 288 well-appointed rooms and suites. Players coming in to play the HPT event can book a room while they last for as low as $69 per night by visiting Ameristar.com/East-Chicago or calling 855-888-7289 and mentioning code HPTPNK.
