The UNC vs. Gonzaga betting line for Monday night’s Men’s NCAA College Basketball Championship had North Carolina as a -1.5 early favorite.
The Zags just narrowly escaped with a 77-73 victory following a second half surge by South Carolina, a team nobody expected to make the Final Four. The Gamecocks actually lead at one point 67-65 with 7:06 left via a 16-0 run.
The Zags scored their 77 points in 69 possessions. They had more paint points in the first 30 minutes of the game than South Carolina had allowed per game (22.5) in the tournament to date.
North Carolina, meanwhile, managed a victory over Oregon with a final score of 77-76.
Kennedy Meeks grabbed the game-saving offensive rebound.
