Dramatic Police Chase Ends at Maryland Live Casino: Was Case of Mistaken Identity

A man chased through two Maryland counties was not involved in a carjacking and shooting that led to his arrest Saturday at the Maryland Live! Casino.

Police admit it was all a case of mistaken identity.  The arrested individual was believed to have been in a car linked to a carjacking and nonfatal shooting that occurred Friday night in Washington, D.C.

Police followed what they believed was the vehicle identified at the shooting through Prince George’s County and ultimately Anne Arundel County, home of the Maryland Live! Casino.  The driver was apprehended at a slot machine without incident after police swamed the casino. Panicked patrons fled the establishment.  Six injuries were reported in the mayhem.

Police did not release the suspect's name Saturday morning but said he is charged in Anne Arundel County with drug offenses. He was taken to a local police facility.
