Sign of the Times: Aussie Millions Cancels $250,000 Challenge

This weekend it was revealed that the Aussie Millions 2017 has cancelled the $250,000 Challenge Super High Roller event won by poker pro Phil Ivey on three different occasions.

The reason for the cancellation: Not enough entrants, both recreational players and pros.

Ivey himself was absent from this year’s Aussie Millions as were previous $250,000 Challenge winners the likes of Patrik Antonius and Daniel Negreanu.

It was noted that the host casino, Crown, did add a $50,000 buy-in No Limit Holdem Shot Clock Six-Max event to the schedule as a replacement.

Last year’s winner, Steve O’Dwyer, took home $744,829 with his $250,000 Challenge victory.
