Puerto Rico's Miguel Cotto has stated that he will refuse to fight Philippine sensation Manny Pacquiao should he not be above 145 pounds.

"Nothing less than 145-pounds," Cotto told Puerto Rican newspaper "Primera Hora," as reported by BoxingScene.com's Mark Vester.

"I'm not willing to fight [Manny Pacquiao] below 145-pounds," stressed Cotto.

Pacquiao's next opponent has yet to be determined but most have speculated Miguel Cotto will be the chosen one.

Cotto's statement negated what Michael Koncz earlier told the Philippine Star, "We are told Cotto is agreeable to fight at a catchweight limit of 144. Manny might want to bring it down to 142."

Koncz added, "Manny's comfortable where he is right now, fighting as a light welterweight. Why should he agree to what Cotto wants?"

"If Cotto wants to fight Manny, it should be at Manny's terms. This fight would mean more to Cotto than to Manny. If a limit of 142 is agreed, let Cotto struggle to make weight, not Manny," he said.

Pacquiao has helped to instill excitement back into the sport of boxing.  Betting on the Manny-Pacquiao-Ricky-Hatton fight was extraordinary.

Miguel Angel Cotto is set to go up against Joshua Clottey where Cotto is a ¼ favorite vs. Clottey (5/2).  The American odds on Cotto were set at -400 and Clottey +250.  There is some speculation that Clottey could upset Cotto in this June 13 faceoff.  All odds courtesy of Sportsinteraction.com - Click Here
