Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady Announces Grand Opening Details

Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady announced today details of the grand opening of the first Las Vegas-style casino in the Capital Region.

The $330 million property will open to the public at noon on Wednesday, 8 February. The casino will open just a few days after the anniversary of the facility's ceremonial groundbreaking, which was held 3 February 2016.

The entire gaming floor and associated amenities will open to guests, including all five restaurants, Van Slyck's Entertainment Lounge and the high limit area. The 50,000-square-foot gaming floor will be the center of the action, with 1,150 slots, 67 gaming tables and a 15-table poker room all open to guests.

"Our team has been working around the clock to make Rivers Casino & Resort a reality for the Capital Region, and I can't say enough great things about our construction partners and the hundreds of team members we've hired over the past weeks," said Mary Cheeks, General Manager of Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady. "8 February is the day that Rivers celebrates the start of a lasting positive relationship with the Capital Region, and that we welcome our first guests in to experience the quality and care we take in our customer experience."

Guests who visit Rivers Casino & Resort on February 8 should follow the direction of temporary signage, Schenectady Police officers and Rivers team members. Surface and garage parking will all be available on Opening Day. Valet parking will open to the public at 6 p.m.
