What will the 1st score of Super Bowl 51 be?  A touchdown? A field goal?  A safety?  There’s a betting prop related to the first score.

A touchdown pays $10 if you bet $16.50 (you get that $16.50 refunded should your bet be a winner).  A field goal or safety has great value, however, paying $13.50 for every $10 wagered.

It’s not just the price that makes a field goal a more lucrative option, it’s also the historic stats.

The first score has been a field goal in 22 Super Bowl games (48.9%).

By comparison, the first score has been a touchdown pass in 15 of the 45 Super Bowls (33.3%).
