Knife Wielding Naked Man Gunned Down in Gambling Hall by Police

(Associated Press) - The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department says one of its officers fatally shot a knife-wielding naked man when he charged the officer after not complying with the officer's commands and earlier chasing two hotel workers.

Police say the incident occurred Saturday morning in a parking lot at the Gold Spike Hotel and Gambling Hall located in Jean, Nevada, about 30 miles south of Las Vegas.

According to police, the officer encountered the man after responding to multiple reports of a naked man in the hotel's pool area.

Police say the officer who shot the man before that had fired a bean-bag gun at the man but it was ineffective.

The officer was not injured.
