Floyd Mayweather, Jr, responding to Conor McGregor’s most recent demand of a $100 million purse countered with an offer of $15 million and a cut of the pay-per-view, which should be enormous thanks to the hype surrounding this fight even before it’s been set.

Mayweather appeared Wednesday on ESPN’s First Take to challenge both McGregor and the UFC’s offers in an effort to close the deal and set a fight date.

"You guys keep hearing all these different rumors about different fighters want to face Floyd Mayweather," he said. "Everybody keeps talking about Conor McGregor. He's blowing smoke up everybody's a--. Dana White, the UFC -- let's make it happen. Bring him over to the boxing world, and I'll show him what it's like."

Mayweather was an early huge favorite to win this fight at between -700 and -2000 while McGregor would pay out upwards of US$900 on a US$100 wager should he win.

Half the bets coming in so far were on Mayweather, Jr.
