Lamar Jackson Wins Heisman Trophy With Huge Payout Odds

It was Louisville’s first Heisman Trophy.  Lamar Jackson entered this season as a relative unknown and huge long shot of being named the Heisman winner.

Jackson opened the season at 100/1 odds and closed at 1/50 odds just one week ago.

Despite losing the last two games, Jackson finished the season with 51 total touchdowns and 4,928 total yards, enough of an effort to win over voters.

"To be able to stand up here with all the former winners, I'm extremely proud to represent this class and Louisville as their first Heisman Trophy winner," Jackson, in a Louisville-red suit, said. "For my teammates, it's an award for all of us. I can't wait to cherish it with all of you.”

Jackson won with 2,144 points, with Deshaun Watson finishing second with 1,524.

Jackson became the youngest player to win the Heisman -- at 19 years.
