Arrogate was coming in at 2-1 odds of winning the 2016 Breeders Cup Classic early.
Arrogate has won his last four starts, the most important of which was his last win, the Traverse Stakes.
Arrogate crushed the field in record time as the Bob Baffert-trained colt, guided by jockey Mike Smith, won by 12-lengths over fellow Baffert horse American Freedom. The win was timed at one minute, 59.36 seconds.
Baffert commented after that win, “I think that he’s the kind of horse that, after what he did today, he could go into the Breeders’ Cup fresh like Pharoah did. I don’t think that’s a big problem for him.”
