Gangster Nabbed in Japan Baseball Gambling Scandal Involving Giants

Police arrested a senior criminal gang member and two others on Sept. 24 for allegedly organizing baseball gambling involving former Yomiuri Giants players, The Mainichi reported on Saturday. Masatake Miyake, 42, was arrested as the alleged high-ranking member of the gang affiliated with the Yamaguchi-gumi syndicate, along with Yoshimasa Sakai, 37 and Katsuyoshi Fukuoka, 36, were also arrested. In April this year, Shoki Kasahara, 25, a pitcher with the Giants at the time of the alleged incident, was arrested for allegedly helping one of the gang’s customers organize baseball gambling. – Jagajeet Chiba, Gambling911.com
