Odds to Win the NFC West 2016 – Seattle Seahawks, Arizona Cardinals, 49ers, Rams

While the Seattle Seahawks odds of winning the NFC West 2016 were at -120 and the technical favorite, the Arizona Cardinals were coming in close behind at +130 in what is otherwise a very lopsided division. 

Seattle was among those NFL teams with the shortest odds of winning the 2017 Super Bowl at +850 for a potential payout of $850 on every $100 bet while Arizona would pay out $1000 at 10-1 odds.

Arizona has established a solid home field presence over the years which culminated with a 7-2 win at home last season.

They have one of the best kickers in the league in Chandler Catanzaro, who managed to go 29-of-33 in 2014 and then 28-of-31 last season.

Catanzaro got off to a rough start in the preseason only to finish strong in his final game, making all three of his extra points and going three-for-three with his field goals attempts, connecting from 24, 41 and 59 yards out. The last one was the longest make of his career.

“That’s a long way, but I hit it really well,” he said. “I just wanted to hit it solid and keep my eyes back, and I did. Me and Drew (Butler), I can remember us just telling it to go; I just wanted it to go through, and it did.

“I’m just thankful for the opportunity.”

Arizona will certainly be tested from the get-go with the Patriots coming to town minus suspended Tom Brady.  The Cardinals were listed as a -7 home favorite after the line opened as a PICK’EM with Brady presumably in the lineup at that time.

Meanwhile, the Seattle Seahawks show no sign of slowing down as they enter the 2016 NFL season.

Seattle does have a more favorable schedule with fewer early games played on the East Coast.

Another point of excitement for Seattle comes in the form of tight end Jimmy Graham, who is returning from a ruptured patellar tendon and is expected to play Sunday, Carroll said. While he's been less than the star he was in New Orleans and is attempting to overcome an injury that has spelled the end of many past careers, adding Graham to the receiving options for quarterback Russell Wilson is always encouraging, as is his return to the field at the start of the season.
