This is all courtesy of a study by Warfield & Associates, which found that Gambling Motivated Fraud in Australia between the years 2011 and 2016 led to 265 criminal cases by 267 offenders, more than 57 percent of whom were male.  Up to 500,000 Aussies were at risk as were some 217 organizations, according to the study.

In the last five years, Aussies stole more than $104 million; the largest transaction totaling $7.8 million.

Men were the biggest perpetrators of fraud, stealing over $67 million in order to gamble, compared with just $37 million by women.

And if you are a gambler, your chances of being victimized were much greater at the poker machines.
