San Jose's police chief, and representatives from the FBI and DEA held a press conference at 3 pm Pacific Standard Time to discuss the apprehension of a 9.5 year veteran of the force, Derrick Antonio.  He is accused of providing intel to a violent Vietnamese street gang.

The nearly six month investigation was dubbed “Operation Gang of Thrones”.  The gang itself was said to have been involved in illegal gambling, the drug trade, assault, public corruption and extortion.  Multiple arrest and search warrants were served at homes, businesses and Vietnamese cafes Tuesday.

"I'm confident that this department did everything it needed to do when it discovered the first indication that there was a police officer who was involved in this crime," said San Jose Mayor Sam Liccardo.

Antonio was booked into the Santa Clara County jail on five felony counts of unauthorized computer access and one felony count of accessory after the fact and is currently in custody.

The crackdown not only yielded gang members and a cop, police also seized a cache of drugs, weapons, gambling machines, and one alligator.
