“Every fight I’ve gone in I want knockout of the night,” Lawler said. “I want to be in and out quick. Sometimes these guys just have a lot of grit, they’re highly trained, and I just can’t get them out of there so I get fight of the night.”

For his part, Woodley has stated that “Lawler is not the boogie man”, and the oddsmakers appear to be backing up that sentiment with some relatively competitive pricing.

"Robbie will bleed and smile and always keep coming, but you have to be intimidated by him to break from that," Woodley said. "That's actually his main attribute. But he's not the boogeyman to me. I'm sorry. You put him at the foot of my bed, I'm gonna open my eyes, take one look at him, and fall my ass right back to sleep."
