  • Cubs odds of winning the World Series at 3-1 at time of trade news
  • Cubs last World Series win was in 1908
  • Chicago will give up four players in exchange for Chapman

The Chicago Cubs with a best-in-the-league record of 59-38 and 7-2 odds of winning the 2016 World Series could get even better in the coming days with news of a trade for Yankees star closing pitcher Aroldis Chapman. The Cubs have not won a World Series since 1908.

The trade, first reported by FanRag Sports, would result in Chicago sending four players to New York that includes top shortstop prospect Gleyber Torres, according to reports. The Yankees also will receive pitcher Adam Warren, minor league outfielder Billy McKinney and an unidentified fourth player.

Chapman, a 28-year-old closer, has 20 saves with a 2.01 ERA this season despite missing the season’s first 30 games while serving a suspension for violating MLB’s domestic violence policy.
