You can bet the Angels-Astros series this weekend with a special focus on a Houston team that has gone 9-0 in this series over the last nine meetings (2-9 in the last eleven played in Houston). LA has won 8 of their last ten overall however.

Houston was listed with a -144 line and LA +133 Friday with a total of 8.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Angels RH Matt Shoemaker (5-9, 4.08 ERA) vs. Astros RH Lance McCullers (4-4, 3.61)

Shoemaker went 0-1 against the Astros the only time he faced them, this despite allowing three runs in 13 1/3 innings.

McCullers gave up one run in 5 2/3 innings of a no-decision against the Angels on June 22.

Collin McHugh, starting Saturday for Houston, has been excellent of late, as he has posted a 2.41 ERA and 8.9 K/9 rate over his last six starts, coming within a single out of tossing a quality start in each outing.

Jared Weaver will start Saturday for the Angels.  He allowed six runs against them on June 29 and four on May 28.

This is a tempting play on Houston but we’re not quite prepared to back McHugh, not to mention we have quite a few plays already this day.

Mike Fiers (6-4) allowed six runs on five hits and three walks over 3.2 innings in Monday's loss to the Athletics.  He will face the Angels on Sunday but gave up seven runs the last time facing them May 27.

Baseball News

Chris Paddack Player Prop Bets

Paddack recorded 10 strikeouts over seven shutout innings on Monday in a win over the White Sox. Prior to that start, Paddack was obliterated by the Orioles, allowing nine runs on 12 hits in 5 1/3 innings.

Zach Eflin Player Prop Bets

Zach Eflin has great value in fantasy leagues for the April 26 game against the lowly Chicago White Sox.  Betting on Eflin and the Tampa Bay Rays might make sense if not for the -210 price tag.

Trevor Williams Player Prop Bets

The Nats Trevor Williams held the Astros to one run with four strikeouts across six innings in a no-decision on Saturday.  And the betting public was eating him up at a near 80% clip.
