The last game of this series was played in September 2013.

Madison Bumgarner suffered the loss for the Giants Friday at San Diego, allowing four runs on seven hits and a walk across six innings. He struck out nine.

If history is any indication, Bumgarner could be in for a rough outing Friday as he has uncharacteristically allowed 25 hits on 82 at bats with five home runs against the current Yankees batters.

Johnny Cueto, coming off a rare loss this season, has also not fared well against these Yankees players, permitting 33 hits on 113 at bats. He allowed five homers over that span.
