SBG Global has posted Papa Clem 2009 Kentucky Derby odds at +2000 after peaking at +1000 prior to the post position standings being announced on Wednesday.
"This is great for gamblers who can now get a payout of $2000 for every $100 bet should Papa Clem win the Derby," says Don Shapiro of Gambling911.com.
Papa Clem's odds are improving despite the juicy price at SBG Global.
Bloodhorse.com reported some great news related to Papa Clem:
"In an ‘old school' move, trainer Gary Stute sent out his Papa Clem for a three-furlong blowout at Churchill Downs two days before the Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (gr. I). Under jockey Rafael Bejarano, the son of Smart Strike threw down a :34 clocking, and was caught "galloping out" in :46 1/5 by Stute."
"I had 33 and four," Stute said back at Barn 10A of the bold move. "It was exactly what I wanted. What I wanted was a real good quarter and a gallop out in three eighths and that's what we got."
Papa Clem gained notice earlier this month after winning the one million dollar Arkansas Derby.
