  • Between Kyle Gibson starting Tuesday and Tommy Milone starting Wednesday, these Twins pitchers have allowed White Sox batters to hit one home run in 176 at bats
  • White Sox are 1-7 in Jose Quintana’s last 8 starts
  • Chicago has won last six games in this series
  • The Over is 14-6-1 in the last 21 played in Chicago

A subpar Minnesota Twins team will take on a Chicago White Sox club that sits right on the .500 mark this week, presenting two pitchers who have fared especially well versus this White Sox roster.

Kyle Gibson, pitching on Tuesday, has permitted just 17 hits on 96 at bats versus the current White Sox roster.

Tommy Milone, pitching on Thursday, has allowed 19 hits on 80 at bats.  Between the two of them, only a single home run has been made.

On Tuesday, the White Sox are 1-7 in Jose Quintana’s last 8 starts, though he has won both his starts against Minnesota this season, giving up just two runs and 10 hits in 13 innings.  The White Sox have won the last six games in this series.

The OVER in this series is 14-6-1 in the last 21 played in Chicago.  That’s good to know because on Wednesday we have two starting pitchers slated who have not fared well against the opposition.

Two of the last three games in this series played in Chicago have gone OVER 8.5 runs (Tuesday’s posted total).  Four of the last six have resulted in eight or more runs scored.

White Sox probable starter James Shields has permitted 45 hits off of 137 at bats versus the current Twins roster, including 15 extra base hits and 5 home runs.

Minnesota’s Ricky Nolasco has allowed 40 hits on 107 at bats versus the current White Sox roster.

The last four games Nolasco has pitched in have resulted in 10 or more runs.  Nine of the last ten have resulted in 9 or more runs.

Shields (2-9 with a 6.22 ERA on the season) has pitched in four games for the White Sox after being acquired by San Diego.  No fewer than 15 runs have been scored in any of those four games.

This is prompting us to go with the OVER 9.5 here.
