Dave Oancea, also known as “Vegas Dave” has placed some of the most successful wagers in the history of sports betting.  He confirmed the wager to Fox Sports while providing them a picture of the cash from his Instagram page (not sure if that is verifiable).

Martin describes just a few of Oancea’s big bets:

Oancea has made a career out of betting, especially when it comes to "futures" wagers like the $2.5 million he won after picking the Kansas City Royals to win the World Series at the start of the season or the $2.3 million he picked up after picking the Denver Broncos to win the Super Bowl ahead of the NFL season.

In MMA, "Vegas Dave" came to prominence after he plopped down $20,000 in a wager picking Holly Holm to defeat Ronda Rousey at UFC 193.

Tate was listed as the slight early favorite at 2-5 or 4-11 depending on the book.  Nunes was coming in at 2-1 odds.
