Czech poker player Jiri Horak did not win the WSOP Colossus II event in 2016 and the million dollars that came with that victory. Just don’t tell that to his friends.

Metro explained how it all went down:

Going in to the river (last card), he only had a few options available to him to win the $1,000.000 top prize.

One of those was an ace but not the ace of spades – which would have seen his opponent Ben Keeline take victory with a flush.

However, this was something his friends didn’t realise.

So when the last card was turned face up showing exactly that – an ace of spades – they reacted like anyone would when they thought their friend had become a millionaire.

He didn’t.

It was Ben Keeline turns $1130 into $1 million with his Colossus II victory.
